Joel Hitchcock Ministry Presents: SMITH WIGGLESWORTH Audio Sermon of Healing Evangelist Smith Wigglesworth by Joel Hitchcock Have you ever wondered what it must have been like to be in a service with the great healing evangelist Smith Wigglesworth? Wigglesworth fans alike will agree that it must have been a very faith filled, exhilarating experience. By no means would we ever experience the glorious ministry of that great pioneer of the healing revival, and by all means we should keep our eyes focused on Jesus Himself—the Author and Finisher of our faith. And knowing that the power of God that is to be manifested in our generation will far outshine the glory of the former days, I still believe Smith Wigglesworth to have been a mighty prophet of the Lord. And I do believe that his ministry, books and sermons are tools that would bring prospective and veteran healing evangelists to a higher level. Evangelist Joel Hitchcock has a high esteem for the great men and women of old, such as John G Lake , ( www.johnglake.net ) William J Seymour, ( www.williamjseymour.com ) Smith Wigglesworth ( www.smithwigglesworth.net ), and Maria Woodworth Etter. Although he did not preach Smith Wigglesworth's message verbatim, he did preach it with the Bible on the one side and Smith Wigglesworth's message on the other. The audio message was entitle “Knowing God-Key to faith.” Using Wigglesworth's notes from his book, Joel expounds some core principles in the message that is key to understanding the power that Wigglesworth operated in. As Biblical as it is that “Faith cometh by hearing,” and that faith can be generated by a consistent exposure to the Word of God, true faith really comes from “Knowing God.” It is the very Word of God that we read and listen to that reveals more of the reality of God in our lives. This reality brings us into a closer and deeper relationship with Him. This relationship is often called “intimacy with God,” and it is this intimacy that is the essential to the kind of faith that Smith Wigglesworth operated in. Numerous accounts have it that Smith Wigglesworth raised the dead, and did other wondrous miracles in the Name of Jesus. One example of the dead being raised was about a man who died before Smith Wigglesworth made it to his house. Smith Wigglesworth was supposed to pray for him, but was greeted at the door with the words “You are too late… He died…” With the bold faith that he was known for he replied “God never sent me anywhere too late…” He asked to be left alone with the corps. The account has it that Smith Wigglesworth commanded the dead man to rise. Nothing happened. He commanded him to rise again, and again nothing happened. Wigglesworth then stood the man up on his feet, commanded him to rise, and let him go. The man collapsed to the floor. He did this over and over again several times, with the same result. Finally, the man opened his eyes. Not only did he come back to life, but he also was healed of his disease! There are also numerous reports of “creative miracles,” where for example a man who had a wooden leg received a bone and flesh leg. These miracles may seem fantastic, but I believe they are true. And I also believe that God can do far greater works than these. Jesus said “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto My Father…” John 14:2 This audio sermon of Smith Wigglesworth, which can be listened to at http://www.smithwigglesworth.net , preached by Joel Hitchcock, will certainly strengthen your faith and raise your expectancy to a higher level.
